At the end of January 2027, we will be exhibiting at the Bett Show in London.

With just under a year to go, we are entering the phase where the decisions we make now will shape what we take to Bett, how we present our work, and how schools experienced HelloDiscoG, our online learning platform designed to support our face-to-face coding and Computer Science lessons through structured projects, progress tracking, and independent practice.

This post marks the start of a new monthly blog series we are calling DiscoG goes to Bett 2027.

A moment that made it real.

This journey did not begin with a single idea or a sudden decision. We had already been planning, exploring, and discussing the possibility of exhibiting at Bett 2027, and sharing our platform with a wider audience.

During Bett 2026, over lunch, we made the decision official.

That moment is where this series begins.

Why this series exists.

Over the next 12 months, we will be sharing monthly updates and what's going on behind the scenes as HelloDiscoG continues to grow and we prepare for Bett 2027.

Each post will reflect where we are at that point in time. What has moved forward, what has changed, and what we are currently focusing on.

For us, this series is about accountability and keeping a clear record of our journey to Bett.

For schools, teachers, and parents reading along, it provides context around our priorities, direction, and how HelloDiscoG is being prepared for wider use.

Bett sits at the end of this timeline, as the point where we bring our work to the wider education community.

Who are we?

We are Gerard and Kat, the father and daughter duo behind DiscoG Coding Academy.

DiscoG began as a small, family-run coding academy teaching children aged 6–18. Over time, our work expanded beyond face-to-face lessons as we looked for better ways to support students between sessions, make their progress visible, and give parents and students clearer insights into learning.

During the 2024–2025 academic year, we focused on building HelloDiscoG, our online platform designed to sit alongside in-person teaching, not replace it.

As we look ahead to Bett 2027, our focus is on refining how learning is structured beyond our classroom, breaking complex ideas into smaller, manageable steps, while still building towards meaningful outcomes, confidence, and independence.

What to expect as we head to the Bett Show 2027.

We will publish one update at the end of each month between now and January 2027.

Closer to Bett, we will also share updates during the three days of the show, followed by a reflection on what we take forward next.

What's coming next?

Our February post will share the first set of updates as this work continues!

See you next month 😎
