Introducing

A coding learning platform for children

HelloDiscoG supports each lesson with structured coding practice, progress tracking, and additional projects that help students build confidence in Python between sessions.

Where coding progress becomes visible

Every student from Year 4+ has a personalised dashboard showing exactly what they've completed, how well they've done, and what to focus on next.

WHAT IS HELLODISCOG?

What HelloDiscoG gives every student

Learning by doing

Students use HelloDiscoG during their coding lessons to work through structured Python projects, with each part linked to what has already been taught and what they are learning next.

When students are writing code to solve a problem or build an algorithm, and something is not quite right, the platform highlights what needs attention by showing the expected outcome compared to what the code actually produces, so they can correct their code and understand why the correct approach works.

Instead of simply being given the answer, they improve their code step by step and learn how to avoid the same mistakes again. Over time, this helps students become more accurate and independent in their coding, as they learn how to think through problems, test their ideas, and refine their solutions.

This approach begins in our Young Coders programme for students in Years 4–8.

STUDENT VOICES

A space for young minds to share ideas

Student Voices is a space within HelloDiscoG where students respond to thought-provoking questions and share ideas beyond coding.

Each round invites students to explore topics related to technology, creativity, and the future. They can read and vote on each other's responses, with winning answers featured on our website.

This creates a sense of community across the academy, while helping students build confidence in expressing their thoughts and engaging with bigger ideas.

See what our students have written, explore recent prompts and read their winning responses:

SOUND LIKE YOUR CHILD?

Does your child have opinions, curiosity, or something to say about the world?

Student Voices is one part of a bigger learning journey. If you think your child would thrive in an environment that encourages them to code, think critically, and share their ideas, we'd love to tell you more.

Common questions from parents

1

What is HelloDiscoG and how is it used?

HelloDiscoG is our online coding learning platform, used as part of every lesson to support teaching, track progress, and structure students’ work over time. It is not a separate course, but a core part of how students learn with us.

2

Does HelloDiscoG replace teaching?

No. All new concepts are taught face to face by our team. HelloDiscoG supports this teaching by providing structured tasks, projects, and progress tracking during and between lessons.

3

Is HelloDiscoG safe for children to use?

Yes. The platform is a controlled and moderated environment designed specifically for young learners. All activity is logged and monitored, and tools such as the AI assistant are restricted to coding-related support only.

4

How does HelloDiscoG track my child’s progress?

Each student has a personalised dashboard that shows the projects, questions, and tasks they have completed. Progress is tracked by topic, making it clear what they understand well and where they may need more support.

5

What kind of support does the platform provide?

HelloDiscoG provides guidance and feedback to help students improve their code and understand mistakes. It is designed to support thinking and problem solving, rather than simply giving answers.

6

Can students use HelloDiscoG at home?

Yes. Students can access their work at home to revisit previous projects, complete additional tasks, and continue practising between lessons. This is optional, but strongly encouraged for those who want to make faster progress.

7

What else can students do on the platform?

In addition to lesson-based work, students can explore extra coding projects, use the coding terms section to learn more about coding concepts with clear explanations and quick quizzes, and take part in Student Voices, where they can respond to questions, read others’ ideas, and take part in competitions.
