Introducing our Student Voices Blog Series

Welcome to the DiscoG Blog, where coding meets creativity! We are thrilled to launch our latest initiative, the Student Voices Blog Series. This exciting feature is designed to amplify the voices of young coders aged 8 to 15, allowing them to share their unique perspectives on technology, creativity, and the coding journey.

In this blog series, students will express their thoughts and ideas in their own words, fostering ownership and pride in their learning. Each post will highlight not just the winning submission but also feature a selection of other creative entries, creating a rich tapestry of student voices.

What is the Student Voices Blog Series?

The Student Voices Blog Series is a platform for students to share their reflections on coding and its impact on their lives. Every two weeks, we present a new prompt on the student dashboard. A recent prompt, for example, asked, “How does coding help you think differently?”

Students can respond in their own words, allowing their creativity to shine. After the submission period closes, our dedicated tutors review the entries to ensure the content is relevant and appropriate for our community.

The Voting Process

Once the review is complete, students take the reins. They read through the submissions and vote for their favorites. This democratic approach encourages engagement and builds a sense of community among our young coders.

The submission with the most votes becomes the featured article in that cycle’s post. This means students are not just passive observers; they are active contributors to the content shared on our platform.

Celebrating Creativity

Every published blog post on DiscoG's website celebrates the winning piece while also highlighting other creative entries. This approach ensures every student feels valued and recognized for their contributions.

To further engage our community, the featured article is transformed into a matching Instagram carousel. This visual representation allows us to share and celebrate students’ ideas in a friendly, accessible way, reaching a broader audience and inspiring others to explore coding.
